Convenient Life

When my friend went to the United States, she was allowed to visit many states and stay in different houses of fellows Filipinos. I think she was so blessed to have that opportunity. One of the things that she noticed are the garage door openers of the houses--they are all mechanized.

She related that life in the convenience is all about convenience. People want to have it easy because they really do not have budget for servants in the house. They pretty much do everything such as gardening, cooking, washing and ironing clothes, cleaning the house, and of course opening the garage door. Here in the Philippines, most of the people who own cars also have servants in the house who can open the gate for them. All they need to do is honk the car if they are a few meters from the house and the maid is already scurrying to open the gate. Thank God that we can have maids here. But not so in the United States. So I cannot blame them if most people have motorized garage doors for convenience. I just wonder how cheap is a garage door opener as compared to the ease it provides.
